Mr Campbell informed pupils of the news on Friday, December 14th.

Sir Peter Simpson, Chief Executive of the Brooke Weston Trust, said: "Martin has overseen the successful development of the Academy and the move into the new building this September. We are very grateful for Martin's contribution and wish him well for the future."  

During Mr Campbell's time at the Academy, a number of changes have been made to ensure more pupils reach their fullest potential. The curriculum was personalised and results have improved, the Academy is now heavily over-subscribed and attendance has risen significantly.

Sir Peter will take up the role as interim Principal next term.
