Cast Your Vote in the Big Brother Book House

Some of literature’s most popular characters are going head-to-head in a Big Brother-style eviction competition.

The library is marking World Book Day on March 7th by asking students to vote out two characters a day from a list which includes Harry Potter, Artemis Fowl and Bilbo Baggins.

Students have been using the specially-made booth in the library to cast their votes and the first characters to be evicted were Twilight's Edward Cullen and Roald Dahl's Matilda. Today it was the turn of Jacqueline Wilson's Hetty Feather and Jane Eyre to be cast out. On Friday, students will then have the chance to vote for the character they would like to save.

Other celebrations to mark World Book Day will include a student and staff book quiz on Thursday. In addition, every student within the Academy will receive a £1 World Book Day token which can be exchanged at participating retailers for a free World Book Day Book from the choice of eight titles.
