Peru is the destination being offered to students in Years 10, 11 and 12 who are looking for a challenge.
Last year a group of Year 11 students volunteered and took part in a Camps International expedition to Tanzania and they worked as a team on various community, wildlife and environmental projects and gained valuable experience from taking part in the once in a lifetime challenge.
Now the opportunity is being offered again to students in the Academy to fundraise for and take part in a similar expedition in 2016.
On Tuesday, 18th November parents are being invited along to a presentation to find out more about the next challenge trip.
In the summer of 2016, Peru is the chosen destination which will include undertaking the iconic trek to Machu Picchu and visiting Lake Titicaca.
One of the lead teachers for the challenge, maths teacher at KSA, Miss Anna Keen said: “Following the success of the 2012 Kenya and 2014 Tanzania expeditions, we are pleased to announce that we are again working with Camps International to give your son/daughter the same opportunity during the summer of 2016. As well as having a fantastic time during their one-month expedition, the students who chose to participate gained a great deal from doing so, enhancing their chances of going into further education or gaining future employment in what is currently a very competitive market. Many gained 70 UCAS points and/or a Universities Award, in addition to developing invaluable transferable skills, including confidence, independence, leadership, teamwork, time management, financial awareness and resourcefulness.”

The meeting at the school is to take place in the main hall on Tuesday at 6.30pm.
