Food Safety Award

A group of Year 10 and Year 11 students at Kettering Science Academy have successfully passed their Level 2 Award in Food Safety.

A group of Year 10 and Year 11 students at Kettering Science Academy have successfully passed their Level 2 Award in Food Safety.
The Food Safety Award is a nationally recognised qualification managed by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health and is a requirement for anyone working within the food industry. 
Some of the students gaining the qualification have also been able to count it towards their Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. 
Food and Catering Teacher at KSA, Simon Isaacs said: “The course is delivered alongside existing GCSE content, with students sitting a one hour exam to test their knowledge of a wide range of aspects of food safety such as the correct cleaning procedures, temperature control and prevention of cross contamination.”

















Year 10 students awarded the certificate were: Chloe Auty, Daisy Blissett, Ellie Boyle,Harry Brandon, Josh Brown, Katie Deacon,Rebecca Donlevy, Meghan Fox, Nicole Holmes, Lily Houghton, Steven Jones, Sophie Neely, Adam Parker, Lewis Peterson, Alicia Pickering, Edward Richards, Megan Steedman,  Gemma Tebbutt and Cameron Warren

Year 11 students who passed the exam were: Zoe Beattie, David Clarke, Joseph Clarke, Reece Dalby, Ocean Davies-Dolman, Jessica Firman, Corey Fox, Jared Hallett, James Holtby, Oliver Horne, Luke Keeling, Rachel Keeling, Owen Mehew, George Peasnall and Liam Watts.
