Successful Fundraising Efforts

Students from Kettering Science Academy raised more than £500 at the weekend as part of their fundraising for the next Camps International trip to Peru in 2016.

Students from Kettering Science Academy raised more than £500 at the weekend as part of their fundraising for the next Camps International trip to Peru in 2016.
The team of eight students spent six hours of volunteering at the out-of-town B & M store in Kettering at the weekend and the amount raised came from shoppers’ donations for assisting them with their bag packing at the checkouts.
One of fundraisers and the main organiser of the bag pack, Year 11 Student, David Bilsby said: “Between us we raised a total of £547.20 giving each of us £68.40, which for our first time and me being the only one with bag packing experience, it was great. We aim to raise even more this weekend. Everyone worked hard and we got a great result.”
This weekend, on Saturday, 7th February and Sunday, 8th February between 10am and 4pm the KSA students will be found offering their bag packing services again, but this time at Morrisons supermarket , Kettering.
Then on Sunday, 1st March the students will be at B&M again doing another bag pack at the out-of- town store.
Students are also fundraising on Fridays at KSA by hosting cake stalls and a few are looking into taking part in the Three Peaks Challenge to raise more funds for the challenge trip.
Each student has the target of more than £4,000 each to raise to fund their place on the Camps International trip.
