Year 6 pupils were welcomed into the Secondary Phase on Monday, July 6th as part of their induction into Year 7.
A successful Transition Day was held on Monday which provided the Year 6 pupils the opportunity to meet the rest of their tutor group and spent the whole day with them.
They also had the chance to take part in a range of lessons.
Progress Leader for Year 7, Mrs Fran Allan said: “All students were involved in a scientific investigation using a range of equipment.  Students also had the opportunity to experience a range of different activities such as creating their own language with our language teachers; take part in PE lessons and create art work, decorate cookies and solve a murder mystery with the English faculty to name but a few activities undertaken. Each group were assigned a number of ambassadors from year 9 and 10 who ensured our new students found their way around the academy without a problem and worked with them within lessons as a support. These students will also buddy the tutor group in September continuing with this support network.”
In September parents will have the opportunity to meet with children’s learning mentors to see how their son / daughter have settled into life within the academy during the first term.
