A team of seven members of staff from KSA are taking on a10k challenge at the weekend and have already raised more than £1,300 in sponsorship money for the MS Society.
On Sunday, 27th September the Academy team, headed up by science teacher, Miss Melanie Jolliffe, will be joining hundreds of other people on the MS Walk along the Thames pathway in London.
Miss Jolliffe has chosen to do the walk, with the support from her colleagues, after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at the age of 18.
The condition has limited her ability to walk long distances, but she said she is determined to make it to the finish line on Sunday and hopes to raise as much money as possible for the MS Society allowing for vital research to be carried out.
The team have their Challenge MS t-shirts and Miss Jolliffe has her super hero t-shirt and they are all set to go on the charity walk.
Science teacher and BTEC Coordinator, Miss Melanie Jolliffe said: "It is hard to believe we are only three days away from the actual event, and I am really looking forward to it. The support for our team has been phenomenal, staff, students and even their families have rallied behind us and donated towards this fabulous cause.”
She added: “It has been incredibly humbling having students come up to me over the last week wishing me good luck.”

There is still time to pledge your support for Miss Jolliffe and her team via the Just Giving page: http://www.justgiving.com/challengems2015-m-jolliffe.
