The Academy was pleased to host an Under 13’s indoor cricket tournament for Year 7 & 8 students from KSA and other Kettering schools this week.

The Kettering Boys Under 13s - Chance to Compete Tournament was held today, Thursday 14th January at the Secondary Phase and saw 8 of our Year 8 Students competing against students from 3 other Kettering  senior schools.
The schools that took part, along with KSA, were: Bishop Stopford, Latimer Arts College and Kettering Buccleuch Academy.
The KSA students who competed wereYear 8 Students: Chris McCarron, Martin Morawski, Thomas Joy, Joshua James, Edvinas Klimavaicius, Ravinder Sondhi, David Dacosta and Josh Shaw.
PE teacher at KSA and lead staff member for the event, Mr William Baines said: “The tournament went really well and all the students from the other schools seemed to enjoy taking part in the event. It provided students that don’t always get a chance to participate in team sports to have a go and hopefully it has encouraged them to think about taking part in more team sports in the future.”
Results from the tournament were as follows:
1st Place - Latimer Arts College  - 9 points
2nd Place -Bishop Stopford School - 7 points
3rd Place  -Kettering Buccleuch Academy – 5 points
4th Place – Kettering Science Academy – 3 points

Mr Baines is also keen to promote the fact that the Academy runs indoor cricket training sessions for KS3 & KS4 boys and girls after school on Monday evenings.
