A debating club is being launched for students and the group's first meeting is being held after school this evening.
The club is being offered to Key Stage 3 students to take an active role in the club with meetings taking place after school on Tuesdays from today, 12th April in the communications department.
English teacher, Miss Rachael Davies will be heading up the debating club and she said she is looking forward to opening up some healthy debates amongst groups of students on a variety of topics.
Miss Davies said: “The main aim of the club will be to encourage the students’ development of healthy debating skills within our school,  but later on we will be looking into entering a group of them into national debating competitions. There is also plans to take some of our more enthusiastic and committed students to the Houses of Parliament next term.”

The group will be meeting from 3.30-4.30pm every Tuesday in room 1.05 in the communciations department.
