A group of our Race To The Top Students had their creative writing skills put to the test when they visited the British Museum and Library.
The students had an enjoyable and fascinating day in London on Monday 9th May and were given the opportunity to look around some unique exhibits during the day trip.
Head Librarian at KSA, Mrs Heidi Economou, who went on the visit, said: “It was an interesting trip for the all students as they were given the opportunity to view the Treasures Collection at the library including seeing Jane Austen’s writing desk, original Beatles manuscripts and original works by Shakespeare.  They also were given a tour around some interesting collections at the museum including the Egyptian and the Assyrian collections.”
Mrs Economou added: “In the British Library they were then set a creative writing challenge and collectively the group composed a poem together using their individual sentences they had written, which were based on answers to questions they had been set on their tour of the library.”
Next week the students, who went on the trip, will be tested on their observational skills to see what they remember from the day by completing a quiz  in the library on Tuesday, 24th May after school.
