Staff

As staff members at Kettering Science Academy it is important to ensure that we have excellent Careers Education in our classrooms, to guarantee our students have a deeper understanding of the world of work.

There are lots of things you can do to make sure you feel confident discussing Post 16 and Post 18 options with your students.

Firstly, ask them what their plans are. Some will have a very clear idea of how their career will pan out, others may not have given it a thought.

Secondly, ask them what their back up plan is. The most important thing we can teach them about careers is how to handle change.

In order to ensure you feel confident to support our students we can offer staff:

  • Regular CPD sessions
  • Access to up to date information on Post 16 and Post 18 options
  • Subject specific advice and resources
  • Referral system for staff to refer students for 1:1 career guidance
  • Opportunities to attend subject related careers events
  • Support to build CEIAG into your classroom
