Poppies Impressed With Work Experience Student

A student who spent two weeks on work experience at Kettering Town Football Club was given a special mention in the club’s match day programme.

Aaron Lewer shadowed Poppies staff in the office and the shop and spent time with the physiotherapist, kit man and match day staff.

The club was so impressed with his efforts that he got a mention in the Poppies' programme when they played Rushden and Diamonds last month, reporting: "It has been great to have Aaron around. "We only hope he enjoyed his time at the club as much as we enjoyed his help."

The Year 11 student approached the club about work experience as he has been involved with the Poppies for about five years.

He volunteers as a ball boy at home games and he has always followed the club.

Aaron said: "I got to see what goes on at a football club and what is involved with all the different roles. They told me what qualifications you need for each job and which ones you'd need to go to university for.

"I spent time with the physio and I could see myself doing something like that.

"It was interesting to find out what goes on before a match and during the week and I really enjoyed my time there."
