They were asked to collect their change throughout the week and when it was counted up today (Friday, 19 November) more than £1,400 had been donated, which is the most amount that has ever been raised.

The coins were used to fill a giant KSA logo, organised by Head of Da Vinci House, Hazel Dodd.

She said: "We have never raised so much before so they have done so well."

Sixth Formers were sponsored to dye their hair, wax their legs and dress as the opposite sex, which raised around £400.

The form in each House that collected the most will receive a prize and the form which raised the most overall will also receive a special prize which will be passed on year on year. 

Charity Committee members will present a giant cheque for the money raised at a special Children in Need event at Wicksteed Park tonight.

KSA, along with other schools in Northamptonshire, are going along to United in Sound, which will showcase talented youngsters including singers and poets.

It has been organised by the Kettering Federation of Schools and aims to promote unity, with the motto 'Love Music, Hate Racism'.
