World Book Day 2020

World Book Day was a 'roaring' success at Kettering Science Academy as a huge dinosaur added drama to the activity filled day.

KSA held  a mystery reader quiz, students voted for their favourite book trailers and a dinosaur from Michael Creighton’s Jurassic Park went on the rampage through KS3 classes giving away books to students nominated by staff, many of whom dressed up as their favourite literary characters.

Students were nominated for a book due to their excellent effort or improvement in their reading.  The English wing was also decorated with Shakespeare plays and quotes with a full-scale model of Romeo and Juliet’s balcony.

Head of English Mrs Evans said: ' We gave away over 320 books, saw an increase in loans from the library for the winning books and  had lots of positive conversations about the titles that students and staff are reading. Thanks to everyone who dressed up and supported World Book Day 2020.'
