A Growing Student Voice

The school council is gathering pace with more students having a say in the future of KSA.

House councils, made up of 12 members, have met twice and have fed students' thoughts and ideas back to House Captains, who meet as an executive school council with Principal Martin Campbell.

House Captains then report back on the meeting to the rest of the House during assembly.

The issues being raised include uniforms, restaurant matters, how to make the best of CAPS sessions for different year groups and how rewards can be linked to the House points system.

Council members have also suggested House-run events.

Vice Principal of Inclusion Jill Gummer said: "The House Captains are doing a really good job.

"In terms of the number of students, this is the most comprehensive school council we've ever had and we're going to have regular meetings."

A dedicated Restaurant Committee is being set up to give students more say on this issue.
