Archer Going from Strength to Strength

Archer Daniel Nixon is now a county reserve after picking up a handful of trophies in his first year at the sport.

The year 10 student is a member of the Targetcraft Archers Club and two weeks ago, he represented the county for the second time in a tournament at Montsaye Community College in Rothwell.

He faced archers from three other counties and picked up two silver medals.

Daniel, who shoots with the under-14s, said: "I was pleased to get a turn and I think I was better than last time I represented the county. I've always enjoyed target practice so I decided to give archery a go."

He practises every fortnight at Montsaye and earlier this year, Daniel took part in a competition between Targetcraft and Kettering Archers, picking up the Westlodge Challenge Handicap Cup as well as the Junior cup.
