An Evening of the Creative Arts

The talent, imagination and hard work of our students will be celebrated at KSA’s Evening of the Creative Arts later this term.

The annual event takes place on Thursday 5th July from 6pm to 8pm and parents and other members of the KSA community are invited along. As well as photography and art displays, there will also be dance, music and drama performances.

The exhibition follows the news that KSA has been awarded Artsmark Gold by the Arts Council, in recognition of the quality of arts provision at the Academy.

Aaron Panther-Howell, Head of Expressive Arts, said: "Our exhibition will reflect the achievement of gaining the Artsmark Gold award and the standard of work will be excellent. I think it's important that parents experience our arts provision to see for themselves what we have achieved here and how talented our students are."

In addition, KSA is also offering students the chance to work towards an Arts Award, another Arts Council scheme. A group of 40 students has already achieved the bronze award after completing a series of tasks. Following a recent trip to London to take part in a workshop at the famous Pineappple Studio, students had to write a review of what they did and also a review of the musical 'Wicked'. They also had to research their own personal hero involved in the arts and perform to a small group.

Some will be looking to achieve the silver and gold Arts Award next year, with the gold award worth 35 UCAS points.
