KSA Singer Wows Audience At The K Factor

A talented performer came second in a competition which showcases the young stars of Kettering.

Year 10 student Ryan Ollett took part in the K Factor at the Masque Theatre along with a dance troupe from the Academy, after they were voted through from the KSA Talent Show.

They faced stiff competition from acts representing other schools across the town, but Ryan triumphed with his performance of Michael Bublé's Home.

As well as a £50 prize, he will now perform at the Christmas lights switch-on in Kettering later this year.

He said: "I'm really happy with the result. I was in the K Factor the year before and I came fourth so to come second is even better.

"I felt more confident because I knew what to do and one of the judges told me to continue with my singing and to go for the X factor when I'm a bit older.

"Just before I go on stage I get a bit nervous but as soon as I'm performing and I see people smiling, I start to smile too and enjoy what I'm doing."

Ryan just missed out on the top spot to the Escape dance group from Latimer Arts College.

Also putting in a sterling effort was KSA's Year 10 dance group made up of 12 girls, who performed a Thriller dance choreographed by Hannah Sambrook.

Ryan also auditioned for Wicksteed's Got Talent over the summer holiday and got through to the final.
