Bronze Medal For Gymnast

A young gymnast picked up a bronze medal after her club entered her into a national gymnastics competition.

Sophie Tucker, of Year 6, took part in the Alpha Factor competition in Chippenham this month, facing other gymnasts from across the country.

Overall, she came 28th out of 74 girls and she also picked up a bronze medal for her efforts on the vault.

She had to complete pieces on the beam, bars, floors and vault in front of a panel of judges.

Sophie, who has been doing gymnastics since she was six, is a member of Kettering Olympic Gymnastics Club.

She has competed before in Loughborough but this time, went further afield.

Sophie said: "I enjoy gymnastics because it's really fun - I like everything about it. I find the beam hardest because you have to balance."
