More than 80 of our GCSE geography students are off to Norfolk this week as part of their studies.
From tomorrow, Wednesday 3rd February a total of 87 of our Year 10 students will be heading to Overstrand on the Norfolk coast for a two and a half day residential trip as a requirement for completing their geography GCSE course work.
The work carried out during the trip is vital to the students completing the course with the data and information collected on the trip is used as part of a controlled assessment, which is worth 25 per cent of their final GCSE grade.
In the past years of the trip the students have gained a lot from the field trip experience and it helps to bring the subject of costal erosion to life.
Whilst visiting various locations on the visit the students will be measuring the varying rates of erosion, questioning residents and tourists about what they think of the sea defences and examining the effectiveness of the sea defences.
The students will return from the trip on Friday, 5th February.
