One of our Year 10 students will be boxing for England next year after winning the National Boxing Championships for his weight class last month.
Billy Revell competed in the Junior National Boxing Championship Final in Newcastle in April and won his final match in the contest to win the title in his 63kg weight category.
He secured the title for his local boxing club, Burton Park Amateur Boxing Club based in Burton Latimer after winning a total of 5 matches.
Billy has been boxing, along with his brother Justin, at the boxing club for the last three years and now is looking forward to being able to represent England in 2017.
Billy said: “I started boxing with my brother three years ago and I train four days a week at the Burton Park Amateur Boxing Club. I am proud to have won the nationals for my club.”
He added he was really looking forward to competing for his country next year.
He said: “I will then be competing against boxers from other countries and I feel proud to have the opportunity to represent my country.”
