Great BWT Bake Off A Success

Our talented bakers from KSA took part in the Brooke Weston Trust third annual Great BWT Bake Off competition on Wednesday.

Our talented bakers from KSA took part in the Brooke Weston Trust third annual Great BWT Bake Off competition on Wednesday.
At the final event a team of 4 of our Year 8 girls represented the Academy at the Trust’s Bake Off event hosted by Corby Business Academy.
Our students, Abbie Williams, Cassandra Avery, Bethany Blisett and Daisy Shannon Ling (pictured above) cooked up and presented an American Independence Day themed afternoon tea as part of the closely contended baking contest and saw our bakers being awarded third place for their efforts.
CBA were first and Corby Technical School came second at the final chosen and adjudicated by an independent panel of judges at the event.
CBA Senior Assistant Principal Andrea Callender presented the winners with the Bake Off trophy.
She said: “This is the third time the Brooke Weston Trust has held this contest. It is a fantastic project and it seems to get better every year.
“I would like to thank all the students from Kettering Science Academy, Corby Technical School and Corby Business Academy for putting in so much effort into producing these wonderful dishes.
“I would also like to thank all the staff who support the Bake Off.”
Kettering Science Academy Catering Manager Alan Sewell added: “We had a fantastic day and our students put in a lot of effort into the competition.”
During the final the students were asked to produce an afternoon tea for four people including four sweet dishes, two savoury dishes and a drink.
The winning team chose the Rio Olympics as their theme and CTS chose the Tour De France.
