DofE Expedition Successfully Completed

Our dedicated Duke of Edinburgh students took further steps towards being awarded their bronze certificates last week as they all successfully completed an expedition.
On Thursday and Friday our students navigating their way around the Rutland area as part of KSA’s DofE  programme and successfully completed that part towards their first award with the Academy’s Scheme.
The students mapped out their own routes and made it to all the check points with all their supplies and camping equipment.
They all camped overnight on the Thursday evening before completing the second half of their trek on the Friday.
Lead staff member for KSA’s DofE and English teacher, Miss Rachael Davies said: “All students who completed the walk passed their bronze expedition – they just now need to ensure that they have uploaded their evidence for the other sections and do their presentation so they can be awarded their bronze. They were amazing and an asset to our school. The assessor commented on the positive attitudes she saw as they walked round as did members of the public we came in contact with. It was fantastic to see the progress they had all made in their team work, navigation and camp-craft skills and despite being exhausted, they all enjoyed the experience.”
