25 students have now signed up and paid their deposits for the CAMPS international expedition for current Year 10, 11 and 12 students to visit Kenya in 2018.

The Academy is excited to run the trip due the success of the 2016 expedition to Peru. In Kenya students will have the opportunity to take part in projects to improve the standard of living for rural communities, visit the beach, go on safari for a chance to catch a glimpse of the ‘Big 5’ and take part in a three day forest trek on Mount Kasigau.

Teacher Rachael Davies said  ‘The students have got off to a great start with their fundraising efforts and some have already reach £700. Many of the students have written to local companies and charities and some have organised events at local primary schools and in the community.

‘I have set them all the challenge to raise (and hopefully exceed) £900 before the summer holiday. They have come up with some great ideas to raise the money and should be a successful group going forward.’
