A large number of Year 8 students from KSA have received confirmation that the mini sagas they have written as part of a competition will be published as part of ‘Welcome to Wonderland – Sagas from the Midlands’ in January 2018.

The students were challenged to write a hundred word story inspired by a fictional world. The project engages, enthuses and inspires students to write while simultaneously developing their writing skills. The winners were all chosen on the basis of good creativity and imagination as well as a strong use of language and sense of originality.

English teacher Mrs Fennon who ran the competition said, ‘It was lovely to read so many engaging stories. I’m impressed at the effort and energy the current year 8s have put into this competition. I am now really looking forward to the next competition.’

Out of 18,000 entries, eighty-six stories were chosen from the selection submitted by students from KSA. Congratulations to all of the writers who will have their work published.
