A disco was recently held by a group of Year 11 students to help raise money for their voluntary trip to Kenya, which will take place in the summer.
The four Year 11 students helped to organise the disco that saw over 60 Year 7 students celebrate their first term at Kettering Science Academy. They all had a great night, which included a photo booth, dance floor, food and drink and even a raffle.
The proceeds of the event will go towards the CAMPS international expedition for current Year 10, 11 and 12 students, in which they will take part in projects to improve the standard of living for rural communities. Students will also have the opportunity to visit the beach, go on safari for a chance to catch a glimpse of the ‘Big 5’ and take part in a three-day forest trek on Mount Kasigau.
Year 11 student Jodie, who helped organise the event said ‘We have managed to raise around £300, which will prove highly beneficial to our trip.’
Thank you to everyone who supported the event.
