To end our month as torchbearer of the Brooke Weston Trust Ambition For All campaign, our BTEC Music students held a Brooke Weston Trust Battle of the Bands.
The event was part of the students' coursework, which required them to hold a concert, organising everything from the auditions to the marketing themselves.
The evening showcased the talents of students from both primary and secondary schools across the Trust and was well attended by friend and family. Performances included choirs, duets and bands, which were judged by Miss Thompson, Mr Stock and Miss Watkinson and hosted by Mrs Doherty from KSA.
At the end of the evening, each of the teams received a certificate for taking part and the winners were announced. Beanfield's Glee Club won overall winner, receiving £50 towards their music department. Whilst Compass won for the primary category and Corby Business Academy won for the secondary category.
KSA Principal Mr Tony Segalini said: 'This event has been a wonderful way to end our Ambition For All month and bring all the schools together to celebrate the ambition and talent of our students as a Trust. Well done to our BTEC students who have organised the whole evening, which was a great success and ran very smoothly on the night. I hope this is something we can continue to run in the future years and build upon.'
