A group of our Year 10 students recently joined other local schools at Northampton College to take part in an exciting workshop organised by the National Space Academy.
The workshop called ‘Igniting the spark’ allowed students to gain a greater insight into the science of space through a variety of fun activities. Activities included making a comet, investigating the heart and how the body changes during space travel, using lenses and telescopes to view the universe and building and launching rockets.
The session encourages students to consider further study in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) subjects and allowed them to explore the future careers they could lead to.
Science Teacher Mrs Oliver said ‘The students had a great day and thoroughly enjoyed the different experiments.’
