KSA hold first ever Book Fair

The Academy’s library are pleased to announce that we will be holding our first ever Book Fair to celebrating reading.

The Book Fair will be arriving in school on Tuesday June 4th, with hundreds of new children’s books to browse and buy.

The Book Fair will be held near Main Reception each evening until Friday June 8th (including Year 7 Parents Evening). There will be over 200 titles for parents and students to choose from, and with prices starting from only £2.99, there’s sure to be a book for everyone.

KSA librarian Mrs Economou said: ‘ We are really excited to be able to hold our first ever book fair. We are always looking for new ways to generate income and share reading for pleasure. By holding a Scholastic book fair we hope to encourage families to reward students at the Academy with good books to read, particularly as we are keen for students to relax over half term and what better way than with a good book!

‘Parents can print off vouchers online and give them to students to use, or all normal methods of payment are accepted. We hope parents in Year 7 will take advantage of this opportunity on parents evening.

‘Don’t forget that every book you buy can help to get free books for our school library! We also have five £5.00 book vouchers to give away as prizes to spend at our Book Fair.

‘Students are also invited to take part in our Creative Writing Competition,  “The Worst Parents Evening EVER!” Students are challenged to write or draw comic book style an imaginary piece about the worst news teachers could give parents, for example: ‘Junior told me Mrs Williams, you are part Alien so he cannot attend his detention on Monday as you have to see your Mother on Mars.’  Entry forms will be available in the library from 20th May 2019, and should be returned to the library no later than Tuesday June 4th 2019.’
