BWT Sports Awards 2019

The achievements of young athletes from Kettering Science Academy and schools from across the Brooke Weston Trust were celebrated at the 2019 BWT Sports Awards.

Commonwealth and European champion swimmer Adam Whitehead gave an inspirational talk about his career and the importance of getting over setbacks, while there were spirited dance performances by students from Corby Business Academy, Thomas Clarkson Academy and, for the first time, by those from Compass Primary School.

The Trust’s Director of Sport, Kirstie Smith welcomed guests including the CEO, Principals, teachers and parents to the event, held at Corby Cube. Adam Whitehead handed out the prizes and there was also a boxing demonstration by students from Oakley Vale and Compass Primary Schools. Teachers Liam Keith and Liam Benner battled it out in the teachers’ challenge, which was to plank for as long as possible. Mr Benner, from Beanfield Primary School, emerged victorious!

A full round up of the award winners and speeches will be posted very shortly.

Well done to everyone who took part or received recognition for their chosen sport.
