KSA supports Mental Health Awareness Day

On Friday 14 February Kettering Science Academy will be supporting Northamptonshire’s Mental Health Awareness Day.

Kettering Science Academy’s Anti-Bullying Lead Teacher Mr Crane said: ‘We celebrate various events throughout the year and have a monthly Anti-Bullying theme. Mental Health Awareness Day is very important to us – last year we had the memorable oversized balloon arch in our restaurant.

‘This year all of our students will watch and discuss a ten minute video on mental health concerns amongst young people; with our Year 7 and 8 students completing word searches on key terminology. All students will be offered a bright yellow wristband to show their support for the day.

‘We run a successful “Talk Out Loud” campaign and encourage students to “ASK TWICE” when seeing if someone is okay. Mental wellbeing is a priority for every member of staff at Kettering Science Academy, and we are working really hard to remove the stigma that is often attached to it.’
