Four Days Of Interactive Learning
It promises to be an interesting and engaging week as students get into the swing of the latest programme of ICU days.
Each year group will spend four days getting stuck into a topic that encompasses different curriculum subjects.
Year 7's theme is Cultural Experiences and the first day (Tuesday, May 3rd) included an African drumming session complete with Ghanaian beats and chants.
The week will continue with a Japan Day, a Euro Day and a trip to Boulogne at the end of the week to give students a taste of the wider world.
Year 8 has been set the challenge of producing and staging a performance of Grease in just four days (pictured)and students have been busy practising their lines, learning songs and even making the famous Grease car.
Their performance will be seen by staff and parents on Friday.
Year 9's theme is Challenge and as well as taking part in camping expeditions, students will also spend time on community projects, including the creation of a mural under the Deeble Road bridge, litter picking in Barton Seagrave and producing hanging baskets for the elderly.
Some students will also help with the creation of meadowland on the fields just off Deeble Road.
Year 10 students are using the time to go on work experience while Year 11s are combining revision sessions with the theme Looking to the Future.
The idea behind the ICU days is that they provide unique learning experiences where students can transfer skills across different subject areas.
