Ashley Raises £650 For Cancer Charity

A student who was inspired to do a 26-mile bike after hearing a talk by a parent in school has raised £650.

Ashley Easton completed the gruelling bike ride at this year's International Waendel Walk, despite suffering from curvature of the spine and asthma.

He decided to help after hearing a talk by Dawn Green, who has two daughters at KSA and was diagnosed in 2008 with a rare form of cancer, pseudomyxoma peritonei.

This week, Ashley handed over a cheque to Dawn for the charity she has set up to raise awareness of this little-known cancer.

In return, Dawn presented Ashley with a certificate for his efforts.

She said: "I want to thank Ashley for his outstanding efforts and I am absolutely overwhelmed and humbled at the support that Ashley and his family have shown."

Dawn's charity is Hawking House's nominate charity of the year - for more details visit www.pseudomyxomasurvivor.co.uk.
