First Aid Training for Sports Leader Students

Members of the British Red Cross visited KSA to teach first aid to students on the Sports Leader course.

The Sixth Formers who are taking the course are all looking to enter a career in teaching or coaching so the workshop was a good opportunity for them to gain skills they may need in the future.

The group looked at how to manage an incident and communicate effectively as well as thinking about how to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency.

Students learnt how to administer CPR and first aid to a casualty who may be choking, bleeding or in shock.

PE Teacher Angela Charlton, who is running the Sports Leader course, said: "The course instructor mentioned how well the group behaved and commented on their enthusiasm, willingness get involved in each task and how keen they were to ask questions."
