Roald Dahl Day Celebrations
The national event is held every year to mark Dahl's birthday and KSA's librarian Heidi Economou has been busy making customised Wonka chocolate bars as part of the fun.
The Cliffhangers book club will be competing in a chocolate challenge and a writing competition will have the theme of mischief and mayhem, which is the focus of this year's Roald Dahl Day. Students will be challenged to write 100 words about the most mischief they have caused, with prizes awarded for the best.
Primary pupils will complete a Dahl-themed wordsearch and will also have the chance to win a Wonka chocolate bar.
Mrs Economou said: "What I love about Roald Dahl is what he did for children's literature - he made it magical and fun and he understood what it was to be a child. He is everlasting and children still love him today."
Visit the Roald Dahl Day website for details about the celebrations that will be taking place at the Roald Dahl Museum and in the author's garden this Sunday.
