Students were challenged to create their own money as part of an inter-form challenge.
During form time last week students were asked to come up with their own ideas for a different kind of currency.
Students worked together on the designs of their currency and were also asked to think about the history behind their currency designs and names.
Sanger form 5 students were chosen as the winning form for their science based currency.
Head of Sanger House, Mrs Hannah Sambrook said: “The students were asked to create a new currency that related to their house.
“All the students created their currency, notes and coins, being as imaginative as possible.
“The winning form in Sanger was Sanger 5 and they designed the Zeon, Neon and Argon coins and notes. They also created a background story for their currency that was all related to Science.”
Sanger student, Dylan Priestley said: “We have enjoyed this project, and it has been something different to work on. We have worked well within our form to create the currency, and we are pleased with the ideas we came up with and the end designs that we have created.”
Dylan added: “We firstly sketched out our designs and have written up the history of the currency. We are now typing up the story and designing the money using a graphic design programme on the computer.”
The winning form will be receiving Sanger stars.
