Sports Day Success
A successful Sports Day was held by the Secondary Phase at the Academy as students and staff competed in individual and team events to earn points for their Houses.
A successful Sports Day was held by the Secondary Phase at the Academy as students and staff competed in individual and team events to earn points for their Houses.
The Sports Day event took place on Tuesday, 9th July and involved all the students and staff participating in the day on the Academy's Sports Field.
In the morning some students were involved with the throwing and javelin events, as well as taking part in the heats for the running races.
The main event happened in the afternoon when all students and staff members participated in the day, all representing their Houses.
They took part in the finals of the running races, egg and spoon relays, track relay, sack races, three-legged races and a tug-of-war competition.
There were joint House winners on the day with both Socrates and Sanger finishing on the same amount of points after all of the events.
Head of PE, Mr Lee Haywood said: "It was a great success. There was a great atmosphere on the day both students and staff entered into the team spirit of the day."
