Kettering Science Academy is getting ready to introduce an online payments system for students’ meals shortly after the half term holiday.
The WisePay system will be launched through the Secondary Phase at KSA from early November allowing for parents to pay for their child’s meals online and avoiding students queuing at reception to pay for their meals on a daily or weekly basis.
The online payment system will enable parents initially to pay for meals online but in the future payments for Academy trips will also be accepted online avoiding students having to deal with larger amounts of cash or cheques.
Business manager at KSA, Tim Laws said: “This is an exciting new payments system to be introduced at the Academy which has many benefits including saving the students’ time spent queuing to pay for meals at reception. It also allows for parents to pay for the meals at home and at a time convenient to them using their bank card and online transfers of money. Wise Pay also gives them the visibility to see what the balance is on their child’s ID/swipe card and will also show what their son or daughter has purchased with their meal funds. It will for example show if they bought a standard breakfast or standard plus breakfast and then a buffet or standard lunch.”
Letters will be sent out to families soon to explain more about the payment system and how it operates. Parents will then be able to access their own accounts via a link on KSA’s website.
