Kettering Science Academy students and staff showed their respect for all those who had served in the World Wars in two special assemblies at the Academy today, Tuesday, November 11.
Years 7-9 were invited to the main hall for the first of the assemblies at 11.15am and Years 10 -13  took part in the second at 11.45am.
Both assemblies were led by KSA, Vice Principal, Mr Tony Segalini, who had served in the Armed Forces himself from 1987 -1997.
During the assemblies,  Mr Segalini encouraged the students to reflect on those individuals that had given up their own lives in the various world conflicts and to think of the sacrifices they had made to allow others to have the freedom to live their daily lives in the way they choose to.
A short film of remembrance was also shown which was followed by students and staff present observing a minute of silence to remember those who had died or been injured in action over the last hundred years.
The end of the silence was signified by two Corby Business Academy, Year 13 students, James Wilson and Sam Addy playing The Last Post on their Cornets.
Principal, Mr Paul Davies closed the special assemblies by thanking everyone for attending and for showing their respect on such a momentous day.
