A group of Year 10 students received a good response to an advertisement asking for female students to help them out with a fashion show aimed at delivering a positive message about self-image.
Kettering Sience Academy Students, Leia Stewart and Daisy Blisset are working together on the fashion event as part of their GCSE drama course work and they asked fellow students last week to sign up to take part in their project.
A total of 10 female volunteers came forward to be involved, from Years 10 and 11, with the girls hoping to get a couple more recruited from the other years too.
Each student had their profile photograph taken at an initial meeting held last Thursday evening, 15th January, which will appear on their t-shirts along with positive words about self-image.
The quotes on the t-shirts will then be read out during a Catwalk show, to be held at KSA later on in the term.
Chloe Goldsmith said: “We didn’t have any particular criteria for the models. Our work is based on self-image and so we were looking for all different types of girls. They will be modelling black t-shirts with a quote on about self-image and size that will be read out as they model the messages during our end of project show.”
