This weekend a group 40 students and members of staff from Kettering Science Academy will be taking on the Three Peaks Challenge.
The Academy group will set off to the Yorkshire Peaks, tomorrow, June 12th to take part in the more than 24 mile trek.
Then on Saturday, June 13th they will be taking on the three Yorkshire peaks of: Pen-y-Ghent (691 metres), Whernside (728 metres) and Ingleborough (723 metres).
They will be setting out from their camp at 6am on Saturday and hope to get the challenge completed within 11 hours.
One of the trip organisers, Head of Maths at KSA, Miss Lorraine Taylor said: “We held a team meeting on Monday and everyone seems very excited about the trip and the challenge that is ahead of them.”
She added some individuals have also done really well with collecting sponsorship money for the challenge with students raising in the region of £400.
A number of the students taking part are also signed up for the Peru Camps International trip in 2016 and have been collecting sponsorship from the Three Peaks Challenge to help fund their place on next year’s summer trip.
