Health and fitness is the focus of the library’s first information window display of the new term.
The library’s Health and Well-Being Information Point is available to all students to access and gain useful health advice and guidance.
Within this section, of the Secondary Phase's library, there is informative posters and associated literature on health and lifestyle issues on display and to coincide with the information section there is a themed window created each term.
This term's window display is reminding students about the health benefits of keeping active on a daily basis including doing small amounts of exercise a day from walking to school, cycling, swimming or skateboarding.
As part of the display is a 3D model showing how parts of the body can be damaged by a lack of exercise and what conditions can be caused as a result of being less active.
Head Librarian at the Secondary Phase, Heidi Economou said: “We continue to work in partnership with Northamptonshire County Council's Health Promotion Resource Unit to provide thisinformation point within the school and it allows us to provide a wide range of leaflets, posters and general information on health related issues for our students.
“This term, with the summer holidays behind them, we are looking to remind our students about the health benefits of keeping active for both their bodies and minds.
“ The display promotes the ways in which our students can keep healthy and reminds them that even just 60 minutes of light exercise per day can help improve their mental well-being, sleep patterns and energy levels. It can also help prevent health complications from developing later on in life.”
