Academy Partnership Blooms

Sharing expertise and knowledge was the theme of a special reception held for staff from the three academies in the Brooke Weston Partnership.

Executive Principal Peter Simpson invited teachers and staff from Kettering Science Academy, Corby Business Academy and Brooke Weston Academy to the event at CBA on Wednesday, September 1st.

It marked a celebration of a year of success and improvement, including the best-ever GCSE results at each academy.

Mr Simpson said across the partnership, there is expertise in every area and that closer working would benefit students even more.

He told staff: "I want to congratulate everyone on their results - no one could be prouder than me.

"We start this year from a terrific position - excellent results, a two-year build project at KSA - and we hope to see a really strong development of this partnership.

"Within this partnership, the expertise exists in almost any facet of education - the first place we should look to for advice is ourselves."

Staff were given a chance to meet with department colleagues from their sister academies to share best practice.

Teachers from overseas were also invited to meet up and share their experiences.

Leanne Martin, who is Head of Citizenship at Brooke Weston Academy, said: "It's great to be able to share what we do because the way we teach Citizenship is so different at each academy."

Her colleague Daniel Hawksley, a Science Teacher at Brooke Weston Academy, added: "What's also good is that we each have our own specialism, so we can share that knowledge too."
