We are pleased to introduce to you one of our new science teachers at KSA, Mrs Louise Warne.
Mrs Warne has been at the Academy since the term after Christmas and she said she is pleased to be working with and teaching our students in the science department in the Secondary Phase.
Mrs Warne said: “I have come back to teaching after being a stay at home Mum. My youngest started school in September and we live in Kettering.I decided I wanted to work in the community that I live in and my five minute commute is perfect. I was ready to make a commitment to a school again and I chose KSA. I think the facilities are amazing it’s such a beautiful school.”
She added: “I love walking in through the sliding doors in the morning. The science department has lovely bright labs for teaching. The way the school is set out so we have our own wing is great. A lovely central area with computers and tables to work at. I feel very blessed to be working here and my new colleagues have been really helpful getting me settled in.”
Mrs Warne also recently successfully led the school’s science week activities for British Science Week before the end of last term and encouraged Year 7 and 8 students to design and build their own ‘Rube Goldberg’ machines.
Future planned events and activities for the science department include a Chemistry trip to Leicester University for Year 7 & 8 students, a talk from a F1 engineer in June for our Year 9s and a STEM week in July to incorporate the world’s largest STEM practical.
