Poetry Competition

Our students are being encouraged to take part in a poetry competition to help celebrate all that is good about Kettering.

Our students are being encouraged to take part in a poetry competition to help celebrate all that is good about Kettering.
As part of Kettfest 2016 schools in the town have been invited to participate in a creative writing competition and be in with a chance of having their poetry shared at the festival in the summer.
Residents of Kettering are being challenged to write a poem of up to four verses long about a memory or experience in Kettering that made them smile.
Both phases at KSA are promoting the poetry competition and library staff are hopeful that poetry written by our students might feature at the town event in July.
Head librarian for KSA, Mrs Heidi Economou said: "We do hope a lot of students will have a go at writing a poem for the town based competition. We have a number of students who have shown a real flair for writing poetry in the past and we hope they will find time to submit a poem into this latest contest. We will also be interested to read their entries on the subject of what has made them smile in Kettering."
Mrs Economou added: "It would be great for a student from our school to have their work featured as part of the event for the town."
The winner will have their poem displayed on a banner during Kettfest (1-3 July 2016) and will also receive a £10 book voucher. There will also be poetry displayed in Kettering Library.
