The Academy’s restaurant was a hive of activity on Tuesday morning ahead of the first GCSE science examination as students were treated to an active revision session.
The science department hosted its first science exam booster event for Year 11 students in preparation for their biology exam at 1pm that day.
Head of science at KSA, Mr Kevan Fryett said: “At 11:30 the whole year group came to the restaurant, where Miss Warne had organised a variety of revision resources for them to use – tables covered with paper for them to draw mind-maps and recall notes, posters on the walls, laminated sheets to annotate or use as flash-cards.
“The students brought along the revision guides that the science department had bought them, sat down and really got stuck into some serious revision.”
He added: “The atmosphere was very business-like as the science teaching team moved from table to table answering questions, giving mini tutorials or just quick-firing some questions for them to ‘bat’. It was a very productive 50 minutes of intense work that really gave the students a confidence boost – the room was buzzing.”
