Great Team Effort Shown On Sports Day

This year the Secondary Phase’s Sports Day was held on Friday 15th July and, unlike last year, the majority of the planned sports races and activities were run ahead of a heavy downpour at the end of the Academy day.
The field and track events took place in the morning including the javelin, long jump, 100m and 200m sprint and 400m and 800m races.
In the afternoon, the whole school were out on the sports field to support their fellow students in the final races for the track and also to take part in egg and spoon races, the three legged races and sack races.
The students competed in teams for various countries and represented: Great Britain, Canada, Australia, Jamaica, Russia, China, Kenya, USA and Brazil.

The overall winning team was Team GB on 507 points.
Year 7 country/form group - Canada 7CBY – 140 points
Year 8 country/form group - Australia 8JDS – 172 points
Year 9 country/form group -Brazil – 9ARE – 162 Points
Year 10 country/form group – Canada – 10EMA -98 points
