Parents of our Race To The Top students had a chance to learn more about all the trips and projects the students have been working on since the programme was introduced at KSA.
Families were invited to a RTTT exhibition held in the Academy’s library on Monday and Tuesday this week which featured displays of trip findings, competitions and an array of students' project work.
Parents were also given the opportunity to speak with the RTTT teachers and were asked to fill in feedback forms on what they felt their child had achieved as a result of taking part in the programme this year.
Parent of Year 9 student, Luke O’Hara, Ms Paula O’Hara said: “Luke seems to have enjoyed the trips and he especially liked the Glider Challenge as he was part of the winning team. It is also interesting to see more about all that the students have worked on and learnt about from all the visits. I do think it is especially good it has been introduced to reward the high achievers and for them to get something back for all the hard work they have put in. I just hope it can carry on next year.”
KSA Vice principal and lead staff member for the RTTT programme, Mr Simon Anderson said: “The most important aspect of the project this year will be its legacy in the values that the academy holds as the corner stone of what we do- to inspire, to discover and to belong. The recent RTT exhibition has been an amazing opportunity for students and staff to reflect on the experiences gained, skills acquired and the ambitions developed.”
