Head Students
Each year, we hold an exciting opportunity for two students to become a 'Head' student.
Through speeches and promotion, they showcase their strengths, commitment and vision for the future. Students place their nominations and when tallied, the two with the most votes become the head students for the year.
They make such a positive impact to the year with ideas, advice and changes for the future that it helps us to improve year-on-year, have a great relationship with our students and make them feel heard and valued.
Here you can find a testimony from our current head students... Marissa and Ryan.
Ryan Choga - Head boy 2025/2026
I only came to this school around the end of year 11, 2 months before our GCSEs. No perception of what I was to get myself into. I was scared. Who knew that this was my first step into soon becoming the Head Boy? In this, the support of the staff was beyond incredible. In theory, I could have gone to any other school, but this one showed that it was the one for me. Lucky enough for me I was right.
My A-levels consist of Maths, Physics and Business Studies. One thing that I like about all these subjects is that the teachers know their students to the individual. Therefore, they do not set unrealistic targets and most of the time leaving more room to go above those set targets. It really pays towards making the environment more workable in as everyone around you is trying to fight for continuous improvement.
Moreover, after A-levels I have sought to choose the option of an apprenticeship, most probably in mechanical engineering. I understand that the path I am choosing is very competitive. Be that as it may, I also acknowledge that with the support at this school, including my peers, is ready to help me work to stand on top of the competition.
As Head Boy, I take into consideration that I am not the one with all the right ideas. To me Head Boy is a podium to bring light the bright ideas of all the people around me. My goal is to create the best community I can within the Sixth form. It makes it way easier to encourage and support each other. This is my way of giving back. Making this place the best it can be.
Marissa Amesimeku - Head Girl 2025/2026
Through the five years I spent at KSA, I was able to find guidance and vision for my future, turning me from an indecisive young student to a sixth-former learning new skills with purpose and ambition, leading me to confidently choose health and social care, biology and psychology and University of Leicester for further education. I chose these subjects due to my interest in them and their alignment with my personal career choice – midwifery – and was pleasantly surprised with how fun it is to study these subjects despite their difficulty.
KSA provides an array of options for their students allowing anyone to pursue careers in all areas and avenues with a high chance of success; while keeping you informed on alternative education options and more unconventional pathways for those who aren’t as keen on traditional schooling. Overall, my experience at KSA has been incredibly enriching, enlightening and I have learnt more than enough to set me up for my next 10 years of life; as head girl, I aim to make this experience commonplace for KSA students and cultivate a community grounded in strong academic achievements and uplifting one another in friendship and collective joy.
