Curriculum

Purpose of the curriculum:  Ambition for All

As a member of the Brooke Weston Trust, our core purpose is Ambition for All.  Our curriculum is designed for all our students to have the chance to be the best they can be – to maximize their learning to give them the best start in life, able to contribute fully to society.  We offer a broad and balanced curriculum designed to provide students with the knowledge they need and the chance to develop their personal and academic skills.

Our curriculum is designed to:

  • Provide challenge.  To stretch, challenge and support our students so that they are prepared for life as workers and as citizens
  • Provide academic rigour across a broad and balanced range of subjects
  • Provide vocational learning where this is appropriate for our students’ aspirations and ambitions
  • Promote students' self-esteem and emotional well-being, offering opportunities for students to develop their knowledge, understanding and appreciation of their own and different beliefs and cultures
  • Make use of information relating to special educational needs and students’ prior attainment in order to better meet student needs

Further details are given in the booklet here.  To find out more about our curriculum please contact the Academy reception and you will be directed to the relevant person.
